Austin moved bulk, brush, and HHW collection to on-demand appointment service citywide in Jan 2025. Austin/Travis County has no city-operated public landfill; residents must use private disposal facilities or the city's Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center. Brush and yard trimmings go to Austin Water's Hornsby Bend facility, not the Recycle and Reuse Center.
